The Hague-based International Criminal Court (ICC) is ready to help Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) which is trying the alleged mass killings of July-August.
"It is always available to assist states both in terms of technical support, to provide training, to provide guidance when the States make the request," Essa Mbye Faal, Senior Trial Lawyer of the ICC, said on Wednesday at a press briefing on ICC prosecutor Karim Khan's visit to Bangladesh.
He also read out Karim Khan's announcement of seeking arrest warrant for the Myanmar military leaders for the violence against Rohingyas.
Essa Mbye Faal thanked Bangladesh for its support during the investigation of Rohingya issues.
"The support Office of the Prosecutor has received from the government of Bangladesh has been quite tremendous. Bangladesh has been very, very helpful," he said.
"They made it a whole lot easier for us to do our work here and therefore achieve our objective," he said.
"And of course, with that kind of cooperation, if Bangladesh were to seek for support, the Office of will be more than happy to oblige," he said when asked.
