A Dhaka court has deferred the submission of a probe report in a case filed over the death of Bangladesh Bank Assistant Director Dipanwita Biswas, who was hit by a brick on her head from an under-construction building in the capital’s Siddheshwari area.
The court fixed May 20 for submitting the report.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sultan Sohag Uddin passed the order on Sunday.
The probe submission report date in the case was fixed on Sunday. However, the police could not submit the report. Therefore, the judge fixed a new date.
Ramna Model police station General Registration Branch Sub-Inspector (SI) Nizam Uddin confirmed the information.
According to the case statement, Dipanwita Biswas was an assistant manager of Bangladesh Bank's Sadarghat branch. On January 10, she was returning home on the office bus. She was walking on the footpath after getting down to Shantinagar.
Dipanwita was seriously injured after a brick fell on her head from an under-construction building when she came in front of Siddheswari Fakhruddin Party Center. The victim fell to the ground.
Locals took her to Sirajul Islam Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Tarun Kumar Biswas, the husband of Dipanwita Biswas, filed the case with Ramna Model police station in this regard.
