Obligation to submit accounts within 90 days of election
The Election Commission (EC) has asked the political parties who participated in the 12th national parliamentary election to submit election expenditure accounts.
The constitutional institution issued a press release on Thursday reminding about the obligation to submit accounts within 90 days of the election.
According to Article 44(1) and (5) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972, the political parties registered with the Election Commission participating in the 12th national election must submit the election expenditure statement to the Election Commission within 90 days of the conclusion of the election.
The Election Commission has issued instructions to the political parties participating in the election to submit their election-related expenditure statements within the stipulated time.
Voting for the 12th national parliamentary election was held on January 7.
