Japanese ambassador calls on Quader. Two discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the Awami League government is making preparations to hold a free, fair and neutral election in accordance with the constitution.
Quader, who is also general secretary of the ruling party, said this to Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Iwama Kiminori when the latter paid a courtesy call on him at his Secretariat office in Dhaka on Sunday morning.
The Election Manifesto Formulation Committee of the Awami League had already held its first meeting centring on the general election, Quader told the Japanese ambassador.
The two also discussed how to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries, including the progress of ongoing projects with the assistance of Japan.
