BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that the people of Bangladesh are now ready to protect their nation.
Speaking at a protest organized by the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Front on Wednesday, he emphasized Hindu-Muslim unity against oppression, following the attack on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in Agartala.
He said: "The children of this soil, irrespective of religion, will not sell our country to servitude. Together, Hindus and Muslims will fight to shatter Delhi's dominance."
Rizvi criticized the BJP government, said: "They thrive on promoting hatred and division to maintain power. Without these tactics, it would be difficult for Narendra Modi to hold onto authority."
Citing renowned writer Annada Shankar Roy, he added: "The BJP's predecessors contributed nothing to India's independence."
He also expressed disappointment with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of having a hidden agenda of extreme Hindutva. "True secularism cannot coexist with fanaticism of any ideology," he highlighted. "Although Muslims constituting 25% of the population, only 1% are represented in government jobs."
He lauded Bangladesh’s traditions of religious harmony and criticized India's media for spreading Anti-Bangladesh propaganda, terming them as "subservient to Indian political agendas."
Rizvi further said: "We are committed to protecting our independence and sovereignty. We respect the independence of all nations, but if Indian rulers think they can dominate Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and others, they are living in a fool's paradise."
The rally, presided over by the organization’s president Aparna Roy Das and conducted by General Secretary Samir Kumar Basu, was attended by BNP leaders including Mir Sharafat Ali Sapu and Dhaka Journalists Union’s Sayed Khan.
