Quota appeal hearing on Sunday

The chamber court has fixed next Sunday for the hearing of the leave to appeal against the judgment given by the High Court declaring the circular canceling the quota system in the first and second class government jobs as illegal. The full bench of the Appellate Division will hear the matter on that day.
A special chamber judge of Justice M Inayetur Rahim fixed the date for the hearing on Thursday evening.
Attorney General AM Amin Uddin represented the state in the court.
Earlier, two students filed a leave to appeal against the High Court's verdict declaring the circular canceling the quota system in the first and second class government jobs illegal.
Advocate Shah Manjurul Haque filed leave to appeal on behalf of the two students in the relevant branch of the Appellate Division.
Two students are - Al Sadi Bhuiyan, student of Anthropology Department of Dhaka University and President of Dhaka University Journalists Association and Ahnaf Saeed Khan, student of Urdu Department.
Last Tuesday, the state party filed a leave to appeal against the High Court's verdict declaring the circular to cancel the quota system in the first and second class government jobs. Leave to appeal has been sought to set aside the judgment of the High Court.
A leave to appeal was filed in the relevant branch of the Appellate Division on Tuesday. The full copy of the judgment given by the High Court declaring the circular canceling the quota system in the first and second class government jobs last July 14 has been published.
