Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud to make first bilateral visit to India

Says India was always by the side of Bangladesh
Newly appointed Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Monday said that he would make his first bilateral visit to India.
After his meeting with Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma, he said his counterpart S Jaishankar invited him to visit India while congratulating him on his appointment as the foreign minister.
He said India was always by the side of Bangladesh to continue the democratic process.
"There were conspiracies in 2014. In, 2018 also there were efforts to make election controversial, and questionable. But India was on our side. You all know India was positive in the last elections," he said.
The foreign minister will go to Uganda to attend the multilateral meeting of the NAM on January 17.
