Quader announced names of candidates
Twenty-two women will fight directly for the “boat” ticket at the upcoming 12th national parliamentary election.
On Sunday, the ruling party Awami League finalized the party candidate for the 12th national parliamentary election.
General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the names of the candidates at a press conference at the party office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
The candidates include Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury for Rangpur-6, Afroza Bari for Gaibandha-1, Mahabub Ara Begum Gini for Gaibandha-2, Umme Kulsum Smrity for Gaibandha-3, Shahadara Mannan for Bogra-1, Habibun Nahar for Bagerhat-3, Jannat Ara Henry for Sirajganj-2, Sultana Nadira for Barguna-2, Matia Chowdhury for Sherpur-2, Nilufar Anjum for Mymensingh-3, Syeda Zakia Noor for Kishoreganj-1, Momtaz Begum for Manikganj-2, Sanjida Khanam for Dhaka-4, Rumana Ali for Gazipur-3, Simeen Hussain (Rimi) for Gazipur-4, Meher Afroz for Gazipur-5, Sheikh Hasina for Gopalganj-3, Selima Ahmad for Comilla-2, Dr Dipu Moni for Chandpur-3, Khadizatul Anwar for Chittagong-2, Faridun Nahar Laily for Lakshmipur- 4, and Shahin Akhtar for Cox's Bazar-4 constituency.
Apart from the prime minister, the cabinet now has 25 ministers, 19 state ministers and three deputy ministers.
After publishing the list of party nomination form, it was evident that all but three of the cabinet members got Awami League tickets for the national polls.
