Kolkata-bound flight diverts to Dhaka airport amid dense fog

Two Dhaka-bound flights landed in Kolkata on Saturday
A Qatar Airlines flight landed at Dhaka airport on Monday as the dense fog prevented it from landing in Kolkata.
The flight landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 3:14am.
Kamrul Islam, executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, confirmed the matter.
"No flight was diverted to Dhaka airport from 12am on Sunday to 8am on Monday due to dense fog. However, a Qatar Airlines flight landed in Dhaka after failing to land in Kolkata. Later, the flight returned to Kolkata at 6:30am on Monday when the weather became normal,” he said.
Earlier, on Saturday, two flights carrying passengers from two Middle-Eastern countries landed at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport of Kolkata in India instead of Dhaka due to dense fog.
The flights started landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after 9:30am on Sunday morning.
