Quader: Russia wants to work for Bangladesh’s infrastructural development

‘We do not want friendship with only Russia, excluding America’
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that Russia wants to work on the infrastructural development of Bangladesh.
Obaidul Quader said this after meeting with Russian Ambassador Alexander V Mantytskiy at his office in the secretariat on Monday.
He said that the Russian envoy expressed to increase the economic relationship in between Bangladesh and Russia in other sectors including communication systems in the future.
“Russia wants to import more products from Bangladesh along with LNG (Liquefied natural gas),” the minister said.
The Russian envoy also requested to make Bangladeshi products more obtainable in Russia.
“However, we do not want friendship with only Russia, excluding America,” he continued.
“We want to be in a friendly relationship with everyone, not enmity,” Obaidul said.
Regarding the Rohingya crisis, the minister said: “We will not permit any more Rohingya infiltration. The country is already suffering due to the global economy.”
