Three former ministers of the Awami League government have recently returned to the Supreme Court to handle cases in the familiar clothes of lawyers after serving long government duties.

They are Advocate Nurul Islam Sujan, Advocate SM Rezaul Karim, and Advocate Mahbub Ali.

On Sunday morning, the three former ministers of the government got into a chat in the chambers of the Supreme Court Bar Association. Meanwhile, fellow lawyers came to meet them.

Returning to the legal profession, the ministers are saying that they have been in the legal profession for a long time and have sometimes performed the duties of the ministry.

They added that they have tried to fulfil their duties as directed by the prime minister. Now they are no longer in charge, but those who have replaced them are also politically mature.

The new ministers hoped that the new ministers will also do well and take the work of the ministry forward.

They did not forget to say that they have “missed” their favourite premises, the Supreme Court.

Former Railway Minister and senior lawyer of the Supreme Court Nurul Islam Sujan has been elected as Member of Parliament for Panchagarh-2. He came to his chamber of the Supreme Court Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, senior lawyer in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, SM Rezaul Karim served as the Minister of Housing and Public Works in the previous government and later as the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock. He was away from the legal profession during the ministry.

Apart from this, Mahbub Ali, a senior advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, served as the Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism during the previous government. He did not win the last 12th national parliamentary election. He also returned to the legal profession.
