Four people, remanded in a case filed in connection with the devastating fire in the capital’s Bailey Road area, has been sent to jail.

After the hearing on Monday afternoon, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tahmina Haque's court rejected the bail application of the accused and ordered them to be sent to jail.

The arrestees are Kacchi Bhai Manager Jishan, Cha Chumuk co-owners Anwarul Haq and Shakil Ahmed Rimon, and Green Cozy Cottage building manager, Hamimul Haq Bipul.

After the two-day remand, the investigating officer of the case, Ramna Model police station Inspector (Investigation) Ansar Milton produced the accused in the court and requested to keep them in jail.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the accused, their lawyers asked for bail. This bail was opposed by the state. After hearing both sides, the court ordered to send each of them to jail without applying for bail.

The four people were put on a two-day remand each on Saturday.

At least 46 people were killed, and over 20 others sustained severe injuries by a devastating fire on Thursday night.
