Minister: Number of cattle more than demand for Eid-ul-Azha

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md Abdur Rahman said that the demand for animals for sacrifice this Eid-ul-Azha is 10.7 million, but about 13 million animals are ready.

The minister said this in response to a question from reporters at the secretariat on Thursday.

When asked why the price of cattle is so high if there is more supply than demand, the minister said that if the price is increased by manipulation in the market, all kinds of measures will be taken to control the market.

“However, we are not responsible for determining the price. Our job is to increase supply and we have done that,” he added.
