Customs Commissioner Enamul Hoque banned from leaving Bangladesh

On July 4, the court ordered the seizure of Enamul Hoque's assets worth Tk89,544,500


A Dhaka court has banned Mohammed Enamul Hoque, commissioner of Sylhet Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, from leaving the country.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad As-Shams Jaglul Hossain issued the order following a hearing on Monday afternoon.

The investigating officer of the case, ACC Deputy Director Farzana Yasmin, applied for the travel ban on Mohammad Enamul Haque on Monday. Acting on this application, the judge issued the order. Mir Ahmed Ali Salam provided this information on behalf of the ACC.

On July 4, the same court ordered the seizure of Enamul Hoque's assets worth Tk89,544,500. The seized properties include three kathas of land worth Tk61 lakh in Joar Shahara, Gulshan, 33 decimals of land worth Tk784,000 in Khilkhet, 1,170 square feet flat with common space in Iris Noorjehan, Kakrail, valued at Tk28,30,500, 1,835 square feet flat with parking space in the same building, valued at Tk51,02,900, two flats in Kakrail, one 1,900 square feet and the other 3,800 square feet, with car parking, valued at Tk28,050,000, five katha land in Gazipur valued at Tk62,40,000, three commercial spaces of 4,000 square feet each in Mohammadpur, each valued at Tk71,35,000, a 10,965 square feet space in Mohammadpur valued at Tk23,590,000, a 2,428 square feet flat in Gulshan worth Tk72 lakh, and four katha arable land in Badda worth Tk1,455,000.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Enamul Hoque for acquiring wealth amounting to Tk97,697,107 beyond his known income.
