Strike against Faridpur's Golden Line Transport. Alleged vandalism.
The bus owners' association of Rajbari has called a strike against Faridpur's Golden Line Transport, leading to a halt in bus services on the Rajbari-Dhaka route starting Monday morning.
According to sources within the bus owner community, buses in Rajbari are not permitted to cross Padma Bridge. However, Golden Line buses were crossing the bridge.
Additionally, Golden Line was running trips without consulting Rajbari's transport owners. When the transport owners attempted to intervene, Golden Line allegedly vandalized bus counters in Gabtoli, Dhaka.
Following discussions with the Dhaka Bus-Truck Owners Association, an agreement was reached that Golden Line would operate two trips to Rajbari. However, Golden Line continued to run more trips than agreed upon.
Despite discussions with Rajbari's deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, and the Dhaka Bus-Truck Owners Association, Golden Line persisted in running trips at their discretion, causing financial losses to Rajbari's bus owners.
The sudden suspension of bus services on the Dhaka-Rajbari route inconvenienced passengers, many of whom were forced to return from the counters. Those with urgent commitments resorted to alternative transportation methods such as cars, autorickshaws, vans, and Mahindras to reach Daulatdia Ghat.
Repeated attempts by Rajbari Bus Owners Association General Secretary Abdur Razzak to contact Liton, the representative of Golden Line, were unsuccessful as his mobile phone was switched off.
