‘We have to deal with political, diplomatic and economic challenges’
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that implementing the party's manifesto given in the 12th national parliament election is the main target of the new government.
He said this while talking to reporters after paying tribute to the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Friday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, followed by Cabinet members, paid respect to Bangabandhu's portrait at Dhanmondi-32 at 10am.
Being asked about the preparation of the new cabinet, Quader said: “We have not even held a cabinet meeting yet. The new cabinet has been sworn in. Preparation is not done yet. We will have the first cabinet meeting. The main target is the implementation of the directions given by the prime minister after the Cabinet meeting, specially our election manifesto.”
The new government has to deal with these three challenges political, diplomatic, and economic, said the Awami League leader.
“It is not so easy to free Bangladesh from the reaction of the reality in the world sector. But we have confidence. Today we have overcome the crisis to hold a peaceful and fair election, it has been possible because of the magical leadership of our leader Sheikh Hasina,” said Quader.
He also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has shown her skill and foresight as the longest-serving woman prime minister in the world. “That is why we have courage, we have confidence. She is our beacon of hope…We believe that a country that has leadership like Sheikh Hasina will move forward. Now our goal is smart Bangladesh.”
He further said: “Our path was never paved with flowers. From our birth till now, we have been in trouble. By crossing this path, we achieved independence under the leadership of Bangabandhu. Now, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, we will overcome the difficult struggle for liberation and build Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla.”
