Commissioned officers of the Air Force and Navy will also be able to exercise magistracy powers similar to those of Army officers.
The public administration ministry issued an updated new circular on Sunday to this end.
The powers would be effective for 60 days from September 17 across the country.
The initial notification on this matter, signed by the ministry's senior assistant secretary on September 24, granted executive magistrate status solely to Army officers for duration of sixty days.
The updated notification, signed on Sunday, extended these powers to all three forces of the military.
According to this revised notification, all armed forces officers holding ranks equivalent to an Army captain and above are authorized to act as executive magistrates throughout the country for the designated period.
In the previous notice, it was said that the army magistrates will conduct their activities in respect of offences under Sections 64, 65, 83, 84, 86, 95(2), 100, 105, 107, 109, 110, 126, 127, 128, 130, 133 and 142 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 (CRPC).
These conditions have been kept unchanged in the latest notification.
