No one has been arrested in connection
Detective Branch (DB) chief Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid on Sunday detectives are looking into whether any banned organizations are active at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet).
He said this while talking to reporters at his Mintu Road office in the capital.
"We are investigating whether any banned organization is involved in the recent Buet movement or not. We have our team there. We are investigating the incident and will take legal action thereafter," he said.
He also mentioned that no one has been arrested in connection with the movement so far.
On Wednesday afternoon, some Buet students claimed that around 1am, some Chhatra League members came into the campus. Despite student politics being banned, they said some leaders and activists from Chhatra League entered the campus that night and took part in political activities.
Expressing anger, students submitted a six-point demand to the Buet administration on Saturday afternoon.
They announced that they would boycott all academic activities, including Saturday and Sunday examinations, to press home their demands.
Meanwhile, the university authorities have cancelled one student's hall seat in the face of the movement.
