Govt to provide 64C in incentives to boost Aush production

The Ministry of Agriculture will provide Tk64.15 crore in incentives to increase Aush paddy cultivation.
Under this initiative, 940,000 small and marginal farmers across the country will get seeds and fertilizers free of cost, reads a press release of the ministry.
A farmer will get 5kg of seeds, 10kg of DAP fertilizer and 10kg of MOP fertilizer for cultivation on one bigha of land.
Seeds of high-yielding Brii Dhan 48, Brri Dhan 82, Brri Dhan 85, Brri Dhan 98, Binadhan 19 and Binadhan 21 will be given, it said.
The incentives are being provided from the Ministry of Agriculture’s regular budget for agricultural rehabilitation assistance and the seed and seedling sector.
The distribution of incentives will start soon at the field level, it added.
