Mine-like bombs were used for sabotage in Rohingya camp, says RAB
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested three terrorists of Arakan Rohingya Salvataion Army (Arsa) after conducting a raid in a remote hill of Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar.
The operation was conducted in Lalpahar, next to Kutupalong Rohingya camp on Thursday morning.
A total of 22 arms, hundreds of ammunition and four mine-like bombs were recovered in the operation.
The arrestees are Arsa terrorist gun group commanders Osman alias Magbagi Osman, Neshar and Imam Hossain.
Lieutenant Colonel HM Sajjad Hossain, commanding officer of RAB-15, confirmed the matter.
“Osman had once a link with the Myanmar Army. He worked as their source. Later, in 2021, he joined Arsa and came to the Rohingya camp in Bangladesh. Under his leadership, Arsa members formed a hideout in remote Lalpahar” said the RAB official.
He had been committing various crimes including murder and domination in the camp, said Sajjad Hossain.
The RAB official also said that the recovered mine-like bombs were used for sabotage in the camp.
