Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, an incumbent member of parliament and the former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team, has purchased an Awami League nomination to run for the Narail-2 seat again in the upcoming national parliament elections.
Narail District Awami League President Subas Chandra Bose collected the nomination form on his behalf from the Bangabandhu Avenue Awami League office in the capital on Monday
Mashrafe is currently a member of parliament of Narail-2.
In December last year, he was made the Youth and Sports Affairs Secretary in the Central Council of Awami League.
The third day of the Awami League nomination form sale for the upcoming 12th national parliamentary election has been witnessing a huge crowd in Dhaka.
Ten booths for eight departments were set up at the party's office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital, facilitating the sale of forms. The process will continue until the next Tuesday.
This time, the price of the Awami League party nomination form has been set at Tk50,000, and the party will finalize candidates for the 300 seats after the nomination board concludes the sale of forms.
Till Monday 1pm, Awami League sold 2,621 nomination forms. The party earned over Tk12 crore till now.
