In a recent development, Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel has stated that there are currently no plans to reopen educational institutions amidst ongoing concerns. This announcement came during a meeting held at the Ministry of Education's conference room on Monday afternoon.

Addressing journalists' queries regarding the reopening of educational institutions, Minister Naufel emphasized that the current situation does not warrant such a move. He suggested that discussions regarding this matter should involve relevant stakeholders responsible for decision-making.

Regarding specific inquiries about primary schools, the minister declined to comment, citing confidentiality of discussions held in cabinet meetings.

The meeting, attended by key figures including Prime Minister's adviser on education and culture Kamal Abdel Nasser Chowdhury and former Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, focused on resolving the ongoing strike by university teachers. Approximately 39 public universities have been affected by the teachers' strike, which began on July 1 to demand the withdrawal of the universal pension scheme.
