2 killed in Bangabandhu Expressway road crash

Injured sent to DMCH for better treatment
Two traders were killed when a fish-carrying pickup lost control and overturned after it hit the road divider on the Bangabandhu Expressway in Munshiganj’s Sreenagar on Tuesday.
The deceased are Md Hafez, 45 and Md Shahidul, 42.
Additionally, five other fish traders were injured in the incident, which occurred around 1:30pm on Tuesday.
According to police and eyewitnesses, the fish-laden pickup was heading towards Dhaka from Mawa. On the way, the pickup overturned after losing control on the opposite side of the Hansara Highway outpost in the Dhaka-bound lane. Seven people in the pickup were seriously injured.
They were rushed to Sreenagar Health Complex, where two were declared dead by the duty doctor.
Sreenagar Health Complex Emergency Department doctor Dr Aklaima Roushan said: "Seven people were brought to the health complex in critical condition. Two of them died after being taken to the hospital. "
The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for better treatment, she added.
Hansara highway police outpost In-Charge Kanchan Kumar Singh said: "Two people were killed in the accident. Five people were injured. They are fish traders. They were going to Dhaka with fish from Mawa. The vehicle was removed from the highway. Vehicular movement is normal now. "
