CID to gather evidence from the crime scene
Three members of a family were hacked to death in Sirajgan.
Police recovered their bodies from their house in Barwari Battala Mahalla of Tarash Municipality at around 8:30am on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Bikash Sarkar, 45, son of Kalicharan Sarkar, his wife Swarna Rani Sarkar, 40, and their daughter Paramita Sarker Tushi, 15, a class X student of Tarash Government Girls' High School.
According to the Inspector (investigation) of Tarash police station Noor-e-Alam, the victims were murdered and locked in the house.
When other family members could not reach them, they informed the police. Later police arrived at the scene, broke the lock around 3am on Monday, and found the bodies lying on the floor and bed, he added.
Relatives believe that the murder may have taken place sometime from Sunday night to Monday, the inspector said.
Crime Investigation Department (CID) members are set to collect evidence from the crime scene. The bodies would be sent to Sirajganj Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
