Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted from the post of Prime Minister of Bangladesh, took refuge in India in the face of massive student protests. An interim government was announced after he left the country.

Meanwhile, Hasina's daughter Saima Wazed Putul reacted for the first time after the political change. He is saddened by the news of his mother's resignation and emigration.

He also said that his heart was broken because he could not see and hug his mother during this difficult time. Indian media NDTV reported this information in a report on Thursday (August 8).

According to the report, Saima Wazed Puthul made an emotional post on social media platform X after she was forced to step down from the post of Prime Minister amid massive student protests. He said he could not 'see and hug his mother' after being ousted amid widespread unrest in the country.

Saima Wazed wrote in her post, 'My heart is broken by the loss of life in my country Bangladesh which I love. Even more heartbreaking, I could not see and hug my mother during this difficult time. I remain committed to fulfilling my duties as RD.'

Incidentally, Saima Wazed is serving as the Regional Director for Southeast Asia of the World Health Organization (WHO).

It should be noted that 76-year-old Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign from the post of Prime Minister last Monday after more than 400 people were killed in protests over job quotas for several weeks. He fled Dhaka and went to India after the Bangladesh Army gave him a 45-minute ultimatum.

From there, it is heard that he will probably go to London to seek asylum in the United Kingdom.

However, the United Kingdom has indicated that Sheikh Hasina will not be given asylum. A spokesperson for the UK Home Office said that they have immigration laws; There is no provision for a person to travel to the UK and claim political or general asylum.

In addition, the United States has canceled the visa of Sheikh Hasina, who was forced to leave the post of Prime Minister due to the anti-quota movement. On Tuesday, a source close to the country's foreign ministry confirmed that the US had canceled the visa of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
