Allegedly intruded into India's territory through Nagarbhita border

A 28-year-old Bangladeshi man, Raju Islam, was allegedly shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the Baliadangi border in Thakurgaon early Friday morning, according to police reports.

Raju Islam, son of Habib Ali from Gariali village in the Boro Palashbari union, reportedly intruded into Indian territory through the Nagarbhita border to smuggle cattle. Officer-in-Charge Firoz Kabir of the Baliadangi police station confirmed that the BSF opened fire upon spotting Raju in the Tingaon area, killing him on the spot.

Lt Col Md Tanjir Ahmed, commandant of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) - 50 Battalion in Thakurgaon, stated that the BGB had been informed of the incident and had requested a flag meeting with local BSF commanders to discuss the matter further. More details are expected to emerge following the meeting.
