Fire in building at Dhaka’s Topkhana under control

The origin of the fire and the damages not be known immediately
A fire that broke out on the top floor of a high-rise building in Dhaka’s Topkhana Road early Sunday is now under control.
Rashid Bin-Khalid, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire originated from the top floor of the 15-storey "Merherban Plaza" on Topkhana Road around 7:33am.
Responding to the call, four firefighting units from several stations rushed to the spot and tamed the blaze around 8:15am, he said.
The fire fighters rescued three people who were trapped in the smoke.
The origin of the fire and the damages caused by it could not be known immediately, the duty officer added.
on Saturday morning, a fire broke out on the ground floor of a six-storey building in Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area, though firefighters tamed the blaze later.
