6 including child killed in Dinajpur bus-truck collision

A head-on collision between a mango truck and a bus traveling to Thakurgaon left six people dead and dozens injured on Friday morning in Panchbari, Dinajpur Sadar upazila.

The dead include the bus supervisor, truck driver, a child, and three passengers. Three people died at the scene and three succumbed to injuries at M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.

Police said the bus collided with the truck near a refueling station around 6:00 am. The force of the impact left both vehicles wrecked. Firefighters and civil defense personnel were called in to extricate the victims.

This accident comes a day after a motorcyclist was killed near the same spot after being hit by a truck.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Vehicular movement on the road was halted for about an hour after the crash.
