Govt wants to buy 10 Airbus aircraft to get commission: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the government has decided to procure 10 Airbus aircraft with an aim to pocket the commission.
"They are buying 10 planes so that they can easily steal money, despite the fact that the planes [Airbus aircraft] are in poor condition and have poor service," Fakhrul said in a rally before distributing leaflets on dengue prevention and awareness in front of the party office at Nayapaltan.
"They [government] might already have stolen money," he said. "Airbus pays commissions; Boeing does not."
People are dying from dengue, and they can't even afford proper meals, and the government wants to purchase 10 aircraft to make money, Fakhrul said.
Given the rising costs of necessities, according to Fakhrul, people had hoped to hear good news during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit.
Fakhrul said the current government is "more dangerous than dengue mosquitoes".
He also criticised the mayor of the two city corporations, saying, "They steal medicines from abroad to control dengue. Theft is their primary objective."
