Stocks up in early trade

Stocks gained in the first hour of trading today, following a three-day losing streak as skittish investors were reluctant to pour fresh funds due to political and economic uncertainties.
The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, was up 0.56 percent as of 11:08 am today.
The index gained 28.89 points to 5165.01 in the morning trade.
The market movement showed positive momentum, as 205 issues advanced, 69 declined, and 100 remained unchanged.
Total turnover stood at Tk 99 crore.
Jute Spinners , Safko Spinnings Mills, Midland Bank led the gains, rising over 7 percent each, while National Feed Mill dropped the most, each shedding over 6 percent.
The CSE All Share Price Index also gained, recording 0.01 percent or 2.47 points gains to settle at 14398.49.
