ACC launches major corruption probe into General Aziz, ex-MP Nizam

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated a comprehensive probe into former chief of army staff General Aziz Ahmed following allegations of corruption.

Preliminary findings suggest that Ahmed has accumulated significant wealth through unethical means, including the acquisition of multiple properties and hundreds of bighas of land in Dhaka and other locations.

The investigation reveals that these assets are registered under the names of his brothers in various parts of the capital.

Additionally, the investigation is scrutinizing substantial illegal assets held by Ahmed both domestically and internationally.

In a related development, the ACC has also uncovered serious allegations against former member of parliament Mohammad Nizam Hossain of Feni-2.

Preliminary findings indicate that Hossain has amassed considerable wealth, amounting to several crore taka, through corrupt practices and irregularities.

This wealth is registered in his name as well as that of his wife and family members.

The ACC has found evidence of significant illegal assets held by Hossain both within the country and abroad.
