Says Bangladesh will not face an economic crisis because of agricultural sector
Salman Fazlur Rahman, private industry and investment adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has said the situation in the market will be normal before and during Ramadan.
Onion, oil and lentils will be imported from India before Ramadan to keep the situation under control, he said at a public reception ceremony in Derai upazila of Sunamganj on Sunday.
“The ministers of commerce of both countries have already discussed it,” he said.
Dismissing the controversy surrounding the election, he said: “Ambassadors from all over the world are congratulating Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the free and fair election.”
“After taking charge of the current government, the main task is to keep the economy of Bangladesh where it has been brought by the prime minister. But it has become a challenge due to Covid-19, the Ukraine-Russia war and the Israel-Palestine war,” he said.
“We need to handle those challenges. Now the country's economy is doing well,” said Salman.
Identifying agriculture as the strongest sector of the economy, he said Bangladesh will not face an economic crisis because of the agriculture sector.
“There is no possibility of an economic crisis because bountiful crops are being produced every year across the country,” he added.
