Dr. Nobel-winning economist has returned to the country. Muhammad Yunus; Who is going to serve as the head of the interim government.

Today (Thursday) at 2:10 PM, the Emirates Airlines plane carrying him landed at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

It is known that tonight he will take charge of the head of the interim government. However, whether other advisors of the government will also take responsibility at the same time, or take responsibility later, has not been finalized yet.

Bangabhavan press wing confirmed last Tuesday, Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. An interim government is being formed headed by Muhammad Yunus. The press wing said that the names of the others will be announced in consultation with the political parties.

On the other hand, Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman has suggested that the swearing-in of the interim government may take place tonight. He gave this information in response to a question from reporters at Sena Nibas yesterday afternoon. He said that as many as 400 people can attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Dr. When asked how many members will be in the interim government formed under the leadership of Yunus, he said that there may be 15 members. Since it has not been formally announced, I do not want to talk about it.

Basically, Sheikh Hasina left the country by resigning from the post of Prime Minister in the face of mass protests on August 5. This ended his 15-and-a-half-year rule.

Incidentally, Muhammad Yunus served as an advisor to the caretaker government formed under the leadership of former Chief Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman in 1996. He was in charge of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Environment and Forests. Dr. Yunus was made the head of the interim government of Bangladesh in 2024.
