PM calls for undertaking projects considering people's benefit

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday asked the local administration here to take development projects considering their benefits for the country and the people.

"Bear some things in mind whenever you go to take any development schemes and that is the return of the projects after its implementation and how much the country and its people will be benefitted," she said.

The premier advised not to take any development project to expense the public money only rather to consider how much the people of the locality will be benefitted.

She gave the instructions while addressing the local administration at Tungipara in Gopalganj district.

Sheikh Hasina asked the local administration to work with confidence, belief and self-dignity while performing any professional duty without hesitating about what the people will say. 

"Many people had said that it would not work or that would not be effective, but we have done it," she said.

Many countries did not even think Bangladesh had progressed so much in the last 15 years, she added.

The prime minister said: "We do not bother what the people are saying. We will do whatever required to be done for the welfare of the country and its people."
