Officials conduct drive with outdated price list of commodities

Realized the matter after journalists questioned them
An executive magistrate of district administration and officials of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) conducted a drive at a kitchen market on Monday without knowing the updated prices of 29 commodities set by the government.
They were reportedly carrying an old list prepared by the Department of Agricultural Marketing.
When journalists present at the market asked about the matter, they realized they did not have the latest price list.
On March 15, the Department of Agricultural Marketing set the prices for 29 agricultural products, including onion, broiler chicken, mutton, beef, and eggplant, at wholesale and retail levels.
According to the newly determined prices, the retail price of beef has been fixed at Tk664.39 per kg, and mutton at Tk1,003.56 per kg.
Furthermore, the new price per kg for green gram has been set at Tk165.41, for black gram Tk166.50, chickpeas (imported) Tk98.30, lentils Tk130.50, lentils (coarse) Tk105.50, grass peas at Tk92.61, pangash (cultivated) at Tk180.87, catla (cultivated) at Tk353.59.
The price of broiler chicken has been set at Tk175.30 per kg, sonali chicken at Tk262, eggs at Tk10.49 each, local onions at Tk65.40 per kg, local garlic at Tk120.81 per kg, imported ginger at Tk180.20 per kg, dry chili at Tk327.34 per kg, green chilli at Tk60.20 per kg, cabbage at Tk28.30 per kg, cauliflower at Tk29.60 per kg.
Eggplants have been priced at Tk49.75 per kg, beans at Tk48, potatoes at Tk28.55, tomatoes at Tk40.20, pumpkin at Tk23.38, zahidi dates at Tk185.07, flattened rice (coarse) at Tk60 per kg, sagar bananas at Tk29.78 per bunch, and gram flour at Tk121.30 per kg, according to the notification.
The Agricultural Marketing Department has requested that the products be sold at these prices until further notice.
