Two firefighting units extinguished blaze
A group of miscreants set a bus on fire near Phulbaria bus stand in the city’s Gulistan area on Sunday during the ongoing 48-hour countrywide blockade of road, rail, and waterways called by the BNP and like-minded opposition parties.
The miscreants set the bus afire around 2:52pm, creating panic among the local people.
Fire Service Control Room Officer Shahjahan Shikdar said: “Victor Paribahan bus was set on fire on Sunday afternoon.”
“Two units of the fire service went and extinguished the fire. The bus was burnt but no one was injured,” he added.
He said that after receiving the information, Siddique Bazar fire station reached the spot under police protection and extinguished the fire.
