Sheltered at Tambru Government Primary School
Three members of the Myanmar army (Tatmadaw) have taken refuge in Bangladesh through the border of Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.
They took shelter in Tambru Government Primary School after entering through the Tambru border of Ward 2 of Ghumdhum UP in the upazila on Saturday morning.
Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shah Mujahid Uddin confirmed the information.
According to the locals, the three members have taken refuge in Bangladesh because they could not survive the war with the rebels in the ongoing power struggle between the government junta forces and the rebels inside Myanmar. They were disarmed and sheltered at Tambru Government Primary School.
Earlier, on March 11, 177 BGP members, including three officers of the Myanmar Army, took refuge in Bangladesh through the Jamchari border.
