Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib took into cognisance three separate charge sheets filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and issued the warrants due to the accused being absent in court.
ACC Assistant Director (Prosecution) Aminul Islam confirmed the matter and said the court has fixed April 27 to review reports on the execution of the arrest orders.
Earlier, on April 10, the same court had issued arrest warrants against Sheikh Hasina, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and 16 others in a separate corruption case related to Rajuk plot allotments.
On January 13, ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin filed a case against Sheikh Rehana for allegedly acquiring a 10-katha plot in the Purbachal New Town Project through abuse of authority. The case named 15 accused, including Sheikh Hasina and Tulip Rizwana Siddiq. After the investigation, ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya submitted a charge sheet on March 10 against 17 individuals, adding two more names.
In a second case, Afnan Jannat Keya also filed charges against Azmina Siddiq for similar irregularities in acquiring a 10-katha plot in Purbachal. This case initially listed 16 accused, including Tulip Siddiq and Sheikh Hasina. The final charge sheet, submitted on March 10, named 18 people.
A third case was filed the same day by ACC Assistant Director SM Rashedul Hasan against Radwan Mujib Siddiq, who is accused of obtaining a plot using political influence. Tulip Siddiq and Sheikh Hasina were among the 16 named in the initial complaint. The final charge sheet also included 18 accused.
All three cases were filed on January 13 at the ACC’s Integrated District Office in Dhaka. Sheikh Rehana, Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, and Azmina Siddiq have been named as the principal accused in the respective cases, while Sheikh Hasina and Tulip Rizwana Siddiq are listed as accomplices.
