He said: “Awami League is not a native force, rather, it is mainly a force gathered from foreign sources. Its strings are pulled from Delhi, while the kite flies in Bangladesh. This kite will no longer be allowed to fly in Bangladesh.”

He made these remarks on Friday at a discussion and Iftar event organized by the Nofel Society in the capital, in memory of the martyrs and injured of the student-led mass uprising.

Mahfuj Alam further said that whenever the Awami League gets a chance, it will always act against the aspirations of the common people of the country.

He also said: “We have achieved victory against Awami fascism. We must remember that this victory was achieved through political and united struggle. If we fail to maintain unity and do not continue our political fight, Awami League will return.”

Commenting on the elections, Mahfuj said that the elections will be held on schedule in December and urged everyone to prepare for it.

He mentioned that Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has said that the elections will take place on time. It is scheduled for the end of this year, in December. A timeline has already been set, and the elections will be conducted within that timeframe. Everyone should start preparing for it. 

He expressed hope that if political parties act responsibly, stop acts of sabotage, and state institutions cooperate properly, the elections will be held on time.
