According to a weather bulletin issued at 9am, the heatwave is affecting Rajshahi division as well as the districts of Tangail, Manikganj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Jessore and Chuadanga.
The BMD warned that the conditions are likely to persist.
The forecast also mentioned the possibility of rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds in one or two places within Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
Friday’s lowest temperature was 22 degrees Celsius, observed in both Tetulia and Sylhet, while the previous day’s highest temperature was 39 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi.
