At 8:30am, the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation took place at the old trade fair ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. Following the prayers, the colourful procession commenced half an hour later at the same location.

The procession featured five beautifully adorned horses, 15 horse-drawn carriages, a marching band and musical performances.

Additionally, a puppet show depicting the history of the Sultanate and Mughal eras was arranged, adding to the excitement of the participants.

At the end of the procession, attendees were served traditional sweets, followed by a brief cultural program marking the conclusion of the event.

Participants expressed their enthusiasm, saying that if such celebrations were held every year, the joy of Eid would be greatly enhanced.

Anisa Rahman, a student who joined the procession, said it felt amazing to be a part of such an event. “This kind of initiative should be repeated to revive our rich traditions."

Another participant, Moniruzzaman Noyon, said: "I had heard about such Eid processions in the past, but I had never seen one myself. Today, being able to participate with my family has been a wonderful experience."

DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz said: "Our goal is to revive Dhaka’s lost traditions, and this Eid Joy Procession is a part of that effort. In the future, we plan to organize it on an even larger scale."

Strict security measures were in place throughout the event, with law enforcement officers ensuring safety at all times.
