The information was announced on Friday morning at a press conference held by the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dhaka University, where Professor Dr Md Azaharul Islam Sheikh, the dean of the faculty, made the announcement.
At the press conference, it was said that the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dhaka University celebrates Bangla New Year with a festive and colorful procession on Pohela Boishakh.
This event is considered to be of special significance and importance in the country's cultural arena.
As in previous years, the Faculty of Fine Arts has taken the initiative to celebrate Pohela Boishakh and Bengali New Year 1432.
Preparations for organizing the vibrant procession are underway.
Present at the press conference on various aspects of celebrating Pohela Boishakh and Bengali New Year 1432, organized by Dhaka University authorities, were Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, vice-chancellor of Dhaka University; Professor Dr Sayema Haque Bidisha, convenor of the Central Coordination Committee for Bengali New Year 1432 Celebration and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration); Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education); Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Treasurer; Professor Dr Md Azaharul Islam Sheikh, member-secretary of the Central Coordination Committee for Bengali New Year 1432 Celebration and Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts; Professor AAM Kaoser Hassan, Member-Secretary of the Procession Sub-Committee; Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed; and members of the Central Coordination Committee and sub-committees.
This year's procession will be the largest, most colorful, and most spectacular compared to previous years.
The procession will feature diversity and participation from various ethnic groups.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, there will be a Chaitra Sankranti event at Bakultala of Charukala from 4pm to 10pm.
