Millions of Muslims across the country are participating in special prayers, exchanging greetings, and enjoying festive meals with family and friends.

Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the two major religious festivals for Muslims, began with congregational prayers at mosques and Eidgahs across Bangladesh.

The main Eid prayer was held at the National Eidgah in Dhaka, where thousands of worshippers, including government officials and community leaders, gathered to seek blessings.

Similar prayers took place in cities, towns and villages, bringing people together in a spirit of unity and joy.

Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus extended his greetings to the nation and Muslims worldwide on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

As part of the celebrations, families are preparing traditional Eid delicacies such as semai (vermicelli dessert).

Many people are also visiting relatives and friends and exchanging gifts.

Shopping malls and markets witnessed a surge in activity in the days leading up to Eid, as people purchased new clothes and festive essentials.

Security has been heightened across the country to ensure a peaceful celebration, with law enforcement agencies deploying personnel at major prayer venues.
