A Rajbari court has granted remand for two accused in a case over injuring the officer-in-charge of Rajbari Sadar police station with an electric machine.

Rajbari Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Md Sumon Hossain passed the order on Monday.

The court also sent another accused to jail.

The remanded accused are Shafiqul Islam, 24, and Liton Sheikh, 45. The other accused, Akkas Ali Mia, 43, was sent to jail. He is a teacher at Rooppur Government Primary School.

Earlier on Monday morning, Rajbari Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector Niharika filed a case in connection with the attack on OC Iftekharul Alam Prodhan.

District Detective Branch (DB) SI Motaleb is investigating the case.

According to the case statement, Liton and Shafiqul came to Rajbari Sadar police station on Sunday afternoon to file a GD against nine people over a clash.

SI Niharika was the duty officer at the police station at that time, and the clash seemed suspicious to her.

Later, SI Niharika sent them to the OC's room, and he ordered them to look further into the matter.

Later, they found that there was a problem with the names of two or three people. Then OC Iftekharul Alam Prodhan started interrogating the plaintiffs.

At one point, Liton called Akkas, and put the phone in his pocket. Seeing this, the OC started to check Liton’s pockets and found an electric shock machine. Later, Liton electrocuted the OC with that same device.
