Police attack on the 'March for Justice' program across the country

Students across the country faced police crackdowns during the 'March for Justice' protest organized by the anti-discrimination student movement. The protest aimed to address issues such as massacres, mass arrests, attacks, lawsuits, disappearances, and murders of students.

On Wednesday, students rallied under the banner of the anti-discrimination student movement to implement the 'March for Justice' program. The protest saw students gather at various locations, including court premises, campuses, and streets across the country.

Dhaka: In Dhaka, students gathered at Dhaka University, particularly around Doyle Square. They demanded action on a nine-point agenda and warned of stricter protests if their demands were not met. Several teachers from Dhaka University expressed solidarity with the students.

Chittagong: Students in Chittagong protested near the Zilla Parishad building in Laldighir Par. Joined by a group of lawyers, they moved to the court premises. Despite a police ultimatum to vacate the road, the protest continued, leading to clashes with law enforcement.

Khulna: In Khulna, police prevented protesters from gathering in the Royal Mor area, resulting in the arrest of 30 participants.

Dinajpur: Similar protests in Shaheed Minar square led to the arrest of 10 individuals.

Barisal: Protesters in Barisal initially gathered on Sadar Road, moving past police barriers before being dispersed by a baton charge. They later regrouped in front of the Kakali cinema hall, where clashes with law enforcement continued, resulting in at least 10 injuries.

Sylhet: In Sylhet, students marching towards Subid Bazar point faced police barricades. The situation escalated with the police using tear gas and sound grenades to disperse the crowd.

Jessore: Students in Jessore also rallied with nine-point demands. They faced police resistance but continued to protest despite arrests.

Thakurgaon: Tensions were high in Thakurgaon as protesters gathered at Ekatariya square, breaking through police barricades to reach the main city and occupy court premises. The situation escalated, leading to injuries among the protesters.

The protests reflect widespread discontent among students, who are demanding justice and action on various issues. The situation remains tense as law enforcement continues to respond to the demonstrations.
