Candidate affidavit: Quader's annual income from writing books 4L, has Tk80,000 in cash

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader earns Tk4,25,300 per year from his books, according to the information given in the affidavit submitted to the Noakhali returning officer for participating in the general election from Noakhali-5.
Besides, he earns Tk12.60 lakh in salaries and allowances as an MP and minister.
He has Tk80,000 while his wife has Tk70,000 in cash.
According to the affidavit, Obaidul Quader's main occupation is private employment. Apart from the salary and allowance received as an MP and minister, he also makes an income by writing books and writing in newspapers.
Besides, the annual income from his apartment rent is Tk14,24,924. In this regard, his wife's income is Tk3,96,966.
Obaidul Quader has savings certificates worth Tk6,97,284 in his name and Tk4,80,922 in his wife’s name. Although there is no annual income in his business sector, the annual income from his wife's business is Tk86,727. It is also mentioned in the affidavit that Obaidul Quader's wife earns Tk2,58,900 annually from the legal profession.
There is Tk75,63,605 in his name and Tk51,97,649 in the name of his wife deposited in the bank.
Quader has an investment of Tk1,49,46,293 and his wife has an investment of Tk73,62,815 in various savings certificates and fixed deposits including postal and savings certificates.
He owns a car worth Tk77.50 lakh, gold ornaments worth Tk1.50 lakh, electronics worth Tk9.20 lakh and furniture worth Tk8.75 lakh. Obaidul Quader owns gold ornaments worth Tk1 lakh, landline and mobile phones worth Tk12,000 and furniture worth Tk1 lakh in the name of his wife.
In addition, it is also mentioned in the affidavit that he has five katha of land worth Tk50,79,600 in Uttara and a flat of Tk1,050 square feet worth Tk16.40 lakh in the name of his wife.
