Setting buses on fire is an old practice for BNP

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Wednesday said although Awami League is in favour of holding a dialogue, BNP is against it.

He said: “British envoy Sarah Cook wanted to know about the dialogue. We are also in favour of dialogue. But they have to come to discuss with us. There is no dialogue with the BNP beyond the constitution. They don't really want dialogue or elections. They want violence, which is exactly what they are doing now.”

The home minister was speaking to the journalists after meeting with British High Commissioner Sarah Catherine Cook in Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Kamal said setting fire to buses is an old practice for BNP as they did the same in 2014.

On BNP’s 3-day blockade, the home minister said that cars are running on the road. Everything is going normally. Even in this, the law and order forces are trying their best to stop the violence.

Regarding illegal migrants in the UK, he said: “We have discussed the issue of illegal migrants. We have an agreement with them that will be done soon”.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that they will cooperate with Bangladesh’s security forces with modern training.
