General Aziz's wife, son left Bangladesh for Bahrain

Former army chief General Aziz Ahmed's wife and son have gone to Bahrain in the Middle East .
They went to Bahrain by a flight from Dhaka on Wednesday morning.
An official of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka said that Gulf Air flight GF-251 was supposed to take off from Dhaka at 5:40am.
However, it left Dhaka at 6am for Bahrain. Former General Aziz's wife and son were on that flight, reports Prothom Alo.
However, former General Aziz was not on the plane.
There are allegations of corruption against this former army chief.
He led Bangladesh's border guard force BGB for four years from 2012.
It is also alleged that Aziz Ahmed had the cooperation of his brothers Haris and Joseph in changing their passports. There is also talk that Joseph's sentence was commuted because of Aziz.
He retired on 23 June 2021.
Almost three years after his retirement, the United States imposed sanctions on him for alleged involvement in corruption.
As a result, he and his family members cannot go to the United States.
