The residence of Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel in Chittagong's Chashma Hill was attacked amid the ongoing anti-discrimination student movement. Additional police forces have been dispatched to the scene following reports of the incident.

The attack occurred around 6:30 PM when a segment of the protestors, who had reached the Gate Number Two area of Chittagong city, diverted towards the mayor's alley and subsequently targeted the house in Chashma Hill.

Chittagong City Police North Zone Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Jahangir confirmed the police response, stating, "After hearing about the attack on the minister's house, we headed towards the spot."

Kazi Tarek Aziz, another additional deputy commissioner of city police, reported that the attack on the education minister's house originated from the procession and included the vandalization of several police boxes.

The education minister's residence is situated approximately half a kilometer from the main road at Gate Number Two. Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel is the son of the late ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former mayor of Chittagong City Corporation.

Earlier, around 5:30 PM, agitators vandalized and set fire to the election office of Chittagong-10 Constituency Member of Parliament Mohiuddin Bachchu at Wasar Mor, further escalating the unrest.

The incidents underscore the heightened tension and violence surrounding the anti-discrimination student movement in Chittagong.
