Benazir asked to appear before ACC on June 23

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has granted an extension till June 23 to former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed to appear before the commission, complying with its summon notice.

The ACC confirmed the matter in a press release.

Earlier, the graft body asked Benazir to appear before it on Thursday.

Later, he sought time through his lawyer.

The ACC investigation team accepted the request and directed him to appear on 23 June.

However, the reason behind the seeking time could not be confirmed.

Earlier on 28 May, ACC summoned Benazir Ahmed and his family members to appear at its office on 6 June and 9 June respectively to quiz them in connection with their indulgence in corruption.

The ACC in April formed a committee to investigate the alleged corruption of Benazir Ahmed and his family.
